Texas Loosey’s Bike Night

So I show up to this huge bike gathering at this nice cowboy/UglyCoyote-style restaurant called Texas Loosey’s last night and have a few drinks and food sponsored by Ed Hardy clothing.  Good stuff.  Lots of people there, too.  I went since it was two minutes from my house.

Next thing I know, the announcer is looking for the owner of a red Ducati with “Desmo” on the side.  I thought I had to move my bike but instead…. I won the Best Bike award!

I didn’t even know there was a contest!

Sweet!  I got a trophy and ladies taking pics with me.  Awww yeah.

Tales from the Pilot Seat – Documentary

It’s a work in progress.

I’ve made Part 1 and the closing credits of this short film documenting my travels on this SportClassic.  I’m not sure when I’ll release it but as the great George Brossard says “It’s done when it’s done”.

Stay tuned, kiddies!

Malibu – Pt. Magu

Headed out bright and early Saturday morning (Aug 15) to Malibu and the Rock Store via Las Flores Rd / Mulholland Hwy / Yerba Buena.  Awesome ride.  Small mishap by one of us boys where we low-sided in gravel at a turnout trying to stop.  DOH!  No personal injuries but the bike scratched its fairing. Very minor.

Not much in the way of photos this time but definately memorable.

Summer 09 SF Coast Ride – Report

That was fun!

DAY 1
The first day was pretty tough since I woke up about 3:30am to drive up the coast with the bike on the trailer.  Arrived in Watsonville, checked in, and met up with four others that wanted to go down to Big Sur.

Once in Big Sur, we waited to for the rest of the gang coming from the LA area to ride past us.  Shook hands, filled up with gas, and a big group of 12+ SportClassics roared up the California coastline to Santa Cruz.  We parked our bikes right at the boardwalk and had a few drinks at the bar and had dinner. It was absolutely great to put a face to the names!

DAY 2
Woke up early and rested.  Headed back to Santa Cruz for a huge group phot0.

We then split up into two groups.  Group A went on a loop around the Redwood forest to world famous Alice’s Restaurant on Skyline Hwy.  We then continued the drinking at the Santa Cruz boardwalk. Group B went to Fort Bragg in the north, spent the night, and came back the next day.

DAY 3
I packed up the trailer, loaded the bike and went home.

It was a great time had by all.  Hope to see them all again.

A short video I made of the trip.

The Summer 09 West Coast Ride and Drinking Event

It’s almost here!  I’ve got my gear packed and ready to go.   Just need my traveling partner, Larry, to come over and drop off his Triumph so I can load up the trailer.

I might be posting an occasional picture or two if I get Internet access.

I’m so stoked.

Gearing up for Santa Cruz

It’s almost time, kiddies.

Next week I’ll be heading up to Santa Cruz to meet up with fellow Ducati SportClassic owners from across the USA and Canada to enjoy some beautiful scenery, talk about how fast we are, and drink beer.

I’ve got the trailer, tools, and riding gear ready to go.  I also have created the assets for the production video of the trip and all I need is the footage.

I’ll keep you all posted.

New banner

Just changed the banner to this blog.   The new picture on the right is my motocycle with my daughter’s.  😀

About the photos above…

Just in case you were wondering about the photos above, one of them is me (the left) and the other one is of a fellow Ducati SportClassic racer – ThunderDuc Racing.

My photo was taken by photographer Rob Zaleski as part of a motorsports portfolio he is creating during his off-time.  Excellent work and very nice guy.

The right side photo is of ThunderDuc Racing’s Chris Gorel’s Ducati SportClassic.  It’s the actual bike he races.  This photo was used in the 2008 Rev’it Motorcycle catalogue.

Another Raven Gets Schooled.

This time it is a Yamaha R1 Raven.  This one is pretty funny.

So I rode my bike to work and in my rear view mirrors I can see a motorcycle coming pretty fast up to the stop light.  …So I move over to make some room.

Light turns green and Tool-boy rides a wheelie for about a hundred feet.  This guy was the typical squid – jeans, tennis shoes, t-shirt, and easily about 240 lbs.  His ass was so big it was swallowing the poor bike.

SO this tool speeds down the street over 70 mph to the next light and gets into the left turn lane.

I’m thinking that the people in cars are probably saying to themselves that motorcycle riders are jerks.  I just take my sweet time to the red light where tool-boy is waiting for the green arrow.

We wait….we wait…we wait for the green light.

Light turns green for me and the oncoming traffic.   Left turn arrow stays RED!  HAHA!

Raven gets schooled by the left turn arrow!
