I had the best experience at Autoclub Speedway (June 25, 2016). I had 1-1 training with the one-and-only Eric Bostrom. I learned a lot of stuff. Mainly riding position and letting go of fear. I kept going faster and faster.
Interesting to note that he also made pointers regarding the way the SportClassic likes to be ridden.
He called it the “tractor” effect. I refer to it as Mario Kart. (lol) shoot style of naviagting through turns.
The bike was performing flawless.
I also was fortunate enough to have former racer John Hilton there. His approach was different but nonetheless, valuable. I had a 2-for-1 that day!
Bostrom said that the SportClassic is a neutral bike, so enter the turn fast, lean it over, maintain speed to keep tires planted deep, and accellerate as you go through. Seems kinda contradictory but it worked!
Best of all, I had my dad and great freinds there to support me!
Such a cool event held at Deus Ex Machina in Venice, CA.
Ducati USA was there and I happened to be in their promotional video. You’ll see me pull up at the 20 second mark.
Went on my yearly New Years Eve “Run for the Roses” ride with the So Cal Norton Club. Basically a ride that meets up where the Rose Parade starts on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena, CA and heads up Angeles Crest Hwy to Newcomb’s Ranch. Gorgeous day!
Wow. It’s been soooo long since I posted here. I haven’t been riding much except for trackdays and on sunny Fridays to work.
So on Jan 7th, took a Friday off to take a spin around AAA Speedway in Fontana. I definitely improved over the years. I was effortlessly motoring around that day.
I’ve been going to the gym a lot and it has helped me tremendously. I went solo on this one and met a couple people there.
I’ll be going again on April 22 and June 8, 2011. Can’t wait!
Streets of Willow May 3rd cancelled.
May 14 – Big Willow is ON.
Took a quick ride to the Orange County Vintage bike meet and as usual, nicest bikes and people.
This month’s winner for the show was a Hodaka H100 Trials Bike.
..and a pic of my bike was snapped up. 🙂
This next espisode to my documentary was filmed at AutoClub Speedway during a trackday by Fastrack Riders. It’s geared more toward the speed and adrenaline of going fast.
Here’s the opening teaser:
A co-worker of mine who has this beautiful custom HD Sportster tipped me off to a car/bike show at Boeing Huntington Beach. We both went at lunchtime and participated in the show.
I took 2nd Place in the Stock category.
He took 1st Place in the Custom category.
Good times!
Cook’s Corner held a Two-Stroke show. Needless to say that those bikes are so cool. My favorite was the Rothsman’s Honda since I was a teenager. Someday…I will have one.
